I am so tired. We didn’t get back until 11pm last night. And not only did Nanna come to the restaurant for dad’s birthday, but uncle Mark and auntie Sandra joined us. Not that I minded, of course. Auntie Sandra is so cool, so I don’t mind talking to her. I wish we got to see them more. It sucks that we only see them like, 3 or 4 times a year. So, it was good that they came and had dinner with us. Nanna was really happy too. She even started singing at the table. Most of the songs she sung were really old, so I’d never heard them before. But they were pretty.
All in all, it was a good night.
So, fast forward to today. Aside from a surprise maths investigation (which I totally flunked), Jenny actually made an appearance at our group. Everyone was pretty surprised; the girls were definitely on my side, so they hell shunned her. Except for Britt. She asked if she could have a chat to her in private. But when Britt came back, she looked a bit nervous.
“What did she want?” Amy asked straight away.
“Um, she just wanted to RSVP to my party,” Britt replied.
“And she came here because?” Mercy asked further.
Britt took a deep breath, “Well, she wanted to know if Taj could come too.”
My heart dropped.
“She’s got some nerve!” Amy said angrily.
“I said she could bring him.”
“What?!” all of us said at the same time.
“Look, I know you guys hate her right now, but she’s still my friend,” Britt declared, “And besides, Demarco is coming, so it’s not really fair that she can’t bring her boyfriend.”
Boyfriend. Wow. I think that’s the first time any of us have used that term for Taj.
Seriously… it’s so weird to think about.
Not that I’ve been thinking about it.
Ok I lie. I mean, she only stole my ex-boyfriend.
So yeah, I couldn’t care less about her. But now she’s going to Britt’s birthday party with Taj, it’s going to be in my face. I love Britt, but I don’t know if I can be in the same room as the 2 of them. I might say something I’ll regret. Or worse. I might ruin Britt’s birthday party. And I don’t want to do that.
Tired + pissed off = a very angry Amber.
